You can always find a Career Advisor in attendance or make an appointment to help with any preparation.
- Update and print copies of your resume
- Research companies and opportunities on our Event Calendar or check your email
- Plan and practice a brief elevator pitch to use when meeting employers
- Dress to impress!
- Prepare notes or questions for employers
- Prioritize the employers you want to visit first
- Collect contact information from the employers you speak with
- Introduce yourself, ask meaningful questions and show enthusiasm
- Be prepared to answer any questions the employer may have
- Take notes and key points for your own knowledge and to use in the follow up email
- Can you tell me about any internship programs you have?
- What skills and experiences do you look for in potential candidates?
- What does the application and interview process look like?
- What is the team dynamic or company culture like?
- Are their mentorship or training programs available?
- Send any follow-up thank-you emails within 24 hours
- Send a LinkedIn request with a personalized message to connect to build your network and stay up to date on opportunities
