Student Research Fellowship

Summer 2026 Student Research Fellowship.
Since 1999, the Emergency Medicine Network (EMNet) Coordinating Center has welcomed preclinical (e.g., premedical) and public health student applicants for the EMNet Student Research Fellowship.
THE PROGRAM:Â The student will gain research experience in Health Services Research in Emergency Medicine. They will be trained in several aspects of research, with a major focus on telephone calls to emergency departments and data management. Students will primarily be involved with our National ED Inventory-USA studies, with work on other special projects as needed.
This full-time Fellowship will begin on June 8th, 2026, and will run for 8-10 weeks. The weekly hours are 8:30a-5:00p Monday-Friday. Fellows will receive a stipend of $6,300 – $7,900. Food and lodging are not provided.
ELIGIBILITY AND SELECTION: The EMNet Student Research Fellowship is open to all US-based preclinical and public health students currently enrolled in a degree-seeking program. This internship is best suited for undergraduate students and an ideal position for those who have an interest in health services research or emergency care. Applicants must have excellent organizational skills, be comfortable speaking on the phone, and be able to work well with others. One applicant will be selected.

- Two letters of recommendation
- A copy of your transcript (either unofficial or official is fine; please send both undergraduate and, if applicable, graduate)
PROGRAM ADMINISTRATION:Â This program will be based at the EMNet Coordinating Center office, at 125 Nashua St in Boston. The deadline for receipt of all application materials is March 1, 2026. Award decision(s) will be announced in April 2026.
