Early Childhood Director wanted for JCCNS Early Childhood Program Extension located at Temple B’nai Abraham in Beverly, MA 

The JCCNS’s Early Childhood Program (ECP), located in Marblehead, Massachusetts, is seeking a Director- Teacher for a new satellite location opening at Temple B’nai Abraham in Beverly, MA in fall 2025.  

The JCCNS ECP serves approximately 200 children aged from three months to five years old across eighteen classrooms. The Beverly Extension will host two classrooms- a toddler (15month-2.9 years) and A preschool mixed age classroom (2.9 years- to 5 years)- and will be operated under the JCCNS program license. 

The JCCNS ECP’s play-based education fosters intellectual and social-emotional growth, community-building, and mutual respect, as interpreted through the lens of Jewish wisdom and values. Children are encouraged to express their interests and abilities through play, language, music and art. Numbers, letters, science, and nature are an integral part of the learning experience. Our curriculum is led by an outstanding, dedicated, and experienced staff that includes 36 dedicated educators. Our school celebrates the fullness of living in a multicultural world and celebrates heritage through songs, holidays and festivals, story, dance and language. While the JCCNS is proudly incorporates Judaism into elements of the curriculum, we welcome and cherish families of all faiths and cultures to our community.  

Position Description: 

The Beverly Director-Teacher shall report to the Director of the Early Childhood Program in Marblehead, MA and: 

  • Guide implementation of the educational vision and philosophy of the  
    JCCNS ECP in collaboration with Board of Directors, teaching staff, other professional staff, Parent-Teacher Organization, and school community; 
  • Maintain and meet all EEC requirements for high quality care; 
  • Hire, train, mentor, supervise, and evaluate Beverly ECP staff in accordance with all EEC and JCCNS requirements; 
  • Engage in professional development and create opportunities for ongoing professional development of staff; 
  • Engage in the development, implementation, and assessment of curriculum; 
  • Foster an environment where students, families, and staff are encouraged to build lasting and meaningful relationships and learn from each other; 
  • Foster strong relationships with families through effective communication and daily interactions; 
  • Coordinate administrative aspects of the educational program, including but not limited to maintaining school records, school registration, and creating the school calendar; 
  • Plan and manage the annual Beverly Extension budget; 
  • Promote and publicize the JCCNS ECP; 
  • Promote safety of the children and teachers; 
  • Split duties between active early childhood teacher and JCCNS ECP Director- role (@20 hours/ week in classroom) 

Qualifications: 

  • B.A./B.S. in Early Childhood Education or related field;  
  • EEC Director 1 certification (EEC Director 2 certification preferred) 
  • At least two years’ experience as a director of an early education program; (at least five years of leadership experience in an early education program preferred; experience with a non-profit or a religious organization preferred); 
  • Background in Jewish education (preferred.)
