Kindergarten, first, and second grade classrooms are self-contained. Teachers teach ELA, math, science, social studies, and religion. Kindergarten classrooms have an instructional aide.
Essential DutiesÂ
- Serve as the lead teacher at the kindergarten, first, or second grade level
- If applicable, develop a positive and productive relationship with the instructional aide
- Implement the designed curriculum and programs (academic, social-emotional, and religious/spiritual)
- Work collaboratively on curriculum implementation, instructional practice, and teaching and learning cycles with your partner teacher, colleagues, and instructional coaches
- Prepare classroom lessons and activities according to best practices and the school’s instructional vision
- Adapt and modify techniques and materials for effectiveness as necessary under the guidance of administration or instructional coaches
