Lab Instructional Assistants play a crucial role in lab preparation, lab operation, and in student education and are a major asset to the lab instructor. It is also hoped that lab assistants will solidify their understanding of A&P, hone their lab skills, and gain some experience as an aid to their peers. Lab assistants are paid to work based on the number of hours logged in the teaching lab each week, which includes time spent preparing before and cleaning up after the lab period, along with time spent preparing review matrials and hosting review sessions.
Lab Instructional Assistant Job Responsibilities:
- Provide assistance to instructors in providing review sessions.
- Assist the lab managers in the preparation of lab materials.
- Ensure lab materials are being handled and stored properly.
- Watch for and notify the instructor of any issues in laboratory safety.
- Prepare and host review sessions for quizzes/practicals
All Laboratory Instructional Assistants must meet the following qualifications in order to apply:
- At least a B average in BIOL-2135
