Duration: Fall Term 2024 with possible continuation into Spring 2024
Hours per week: 15-20, Monday – Friday based on a consistent weekly schedule. The schedule will be structured based on the student’s availability.
Organization Overview: The mission of the Business Office is to provide the Emmanuel College community with financial expertise, policies and procedures to ensure our accounting processes are in accordance with all government requirements and standards set by our auditors. We provide expert advice and the necessary tools to obtain goods and services in a cost-efficient and timely manner. The Business Office Staff serve as a resource to answer all questions and provide required services related to the procurement of goods and services.
Responsibilities:
Student will be provided with a gradual increase in responsibilities as proficiency is demonstrated. General responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Confidentiality – Intern will be required to attend all available hiring orientations. As well as learn the federal regulations of FERPA. Student will be required to adhere to all confidentiality policies at all times and sign a statement of confidentiality.
- Institution Knowledge – Intern will work to learn the organizational structure of the Business Office and Emmanuel College. Intern will be responsible for learning institutional policy and procedures.
- General Office Duties – Intern will assist with basic office procedures such as faxing, copying, scanning and filing.
- Project Management – Intern will work under the supervision of staff members to assist and complete various projects.
- Accounting Processes – Post transactions to general ledger system from subsidiary systems.
- Customer Service – Intern may interact with faculty/staff/students and be responsible for answering basic questions and directing visitors to the appropriate staff member.
- Team Meetings – Intern will attend regular team meetings.
