On Tuesday March 11, the McCafferty Career Center hosted the second Industry Recruitment Series event of the semester for Communications, Marketing & Design.
In contrast to other tabled career fair events, students who attended the IRS were able to interact with recruiters via a series of round table conversations followed by open networking. The Career Center hosted a variety of employers throughout the Boston area including NESN, Enterprise Mobility, & Emmanuel alum-owned Bees and Thank You, among others.
With a focus audience of the Communications, Creative Arts & Marketing programs, students from these majors were able to learn first hand about the companies, how they relate to their majors and their hiring processes in a laid-back, conversational setting.
Since attending this IRS event, the majority of students said they gained confidence in their ability to interact with recruiters on a professional level. Many employers reported that not only do they love the organization of the event and the partnership with the Career Center, but are pleased with the preparedness of the students as well. One recruiter in attendance said “I feel like I was able to have thorough conversations with students. Connecting with them in this way was unique and impactful!”
