Industry Recruitment Series: Educational Programs & Schools Recap
On Tuesday, February 26th, The McCafferty Career Center hosted the first Industry Recruitment Series event of the spring semester: Educational Programs & Schools.
Differing from your typical career fair– a room full of long tables, quick hellos, pamphlets then on to the next employer– the Industry Recruitment Series is focused in networking. Each event hosts the same format; a series of 15 minute round table conversations, followed by 30 minutes of open networking. The structure of the Industry Recruitment Series events allows for deeper conversations to happen between small groups of students and individual recruiters.
In collaboration with the School of Education, the McCafferty Career Center hosted nearly 20 employers from the educational industry. Recruiters included Boston Public Schools, Framingham Teacher Residency, Julie’s Family Learning Center, Mother Caroline Academy and more.
Both students and employers reported that they enjoy the informal, laid back conversational aspect of this event. The majority of students said that after attending, they gained confidence in interacting with recruiters on a professional level and would recommend the IRS events to their friends.
