Meet the Summer 2024 Cohort

Grace Dupuis ’25

ABCD YEA! Program Coordinator

Major: Criminal Justice | Minor: Psychology

“This internship turned out to be the ideal fit for me and my career goals. Working with thirteen-year-olds living below the poverty line is relevant to what I plan to do in the future. I hope to become an attorney and advocate for low-income individuals, particularly children and teenagers.

This internship and the ability to interact with thirteen-year-olds as well as people from many countries and backgrounds has truly assisted my personal development and broadened my eyes on the true struggles they face. I have really enjoyed my experience and would recommend it to everyone.”

Sophia Fearon ’27

St. Ambrose Family Shelter Intern

Major: Accounting | Minor: Fine Arts

“I originally picked this location because I loved the Idea of helping the shelter with their garden, but after working there this summer I have come to love the service part of the job.

After seeing the relationships built between the workers and the residents at the shelter, I would like to build the same relationship with my clients as a public accountant.”

Erika Blanchard ’27

Fenway Community Center Intern

Major: Marketing | Minor: Graphic Design

“As an intern, I have been given a range of responsibilities that add to the day-to-day operations of this non-profit organization. I have participated in event planning, advertising, marketing, and delivery for the community members.

The internship allowed me to provide services in the community through events like lemonade stands in the park and food delivery. My supervisor helped me identify an area for personal improvement and provided the opportunity to create events and meetings to reach my personal goals.”

Hanna Huntington ’26

ABCD YEA! Program Coordinator

Major: English | Minor: Writing

“This internship ended up being the perfect fit for me and my career goals. Working with thirteen year old’s also ties in nicely with my goals of being a juvenile lawyer as I will be able to get a sense of the age range that I may likely be working with.

Being in an office environment like this in general is incredibly useful and will help me learn proper office etiquette and responsibilities no matter what field I choose to go into.”

Lex Sirica ’26

ABCD YEA! Program Coordinator

Major: Nursing

“This program is intended to teach the youth about things not traditionally taught in the public-school systems. My day to day is reviewing the applications sent in by the parents, and making sure all the correct documents are filled out and attached. I am creating the schedule and booking the events.

As a nursing major, I enjoy helping others and making a difference in my community. I feel like this internship is a great way to give back and I can’t wait to see how the next few weeks go! “

Shama Marc ’25

Catholic Charities Intern

Major: Accounting

“This internship has helped me become more confident in creating supervisor/co-worker relationships.

My time here has taught me a lot about social work and the challenges residential immigrants face when coming to America seeking asylum.”

Leyla Rodriguez ’27

Sociedad Latina STEAM Team Intern

ajor: Biology | Minor: Spanish & Data Analytics

“Providing a safe space for Latinx students and allowing them to freely explore their interests without the worry of a language barrier is extremely important to me. SL is built around providing a holistic investment in youth education and encourages bilingualism within their community.

This aligns with my major as it allows me to view how I can give back to my community by joining non-profits like Sociedad Latina and encourage curiosity and enthusiasm for education. ”

Rachel Harrington ’25

Fenway Community Center Intern

Major: Business Management | Minor: Marketing & Accounting

“I chose to intern at the Fenway Community Center because I am driven by a profound passion for helping others. Whether through volunteer efforts, professional endeavors, or personal interactions, I have a strong commitment to service.

The FCC provides the perfect environment for me to improve/expand my skillset and prepare me for future opportunities! ”
